Intermediate Workshop

Connected Arms

Saturday. June 20

The First Parish in Bedford Unitarian Universalist

To help you practice after this workshop, you will receive eight weeks of email tips on how and what to practice.

This Connected Arms workshop will be taught by Bill Ryan, our director.

In this workshop you will learn how to stretch and turn the tissues of your arms within the Dragon & Tiger exercise set. These actions will loosen your joints, increase blood flow in your arms and upper torso, and better connect your arms energetically from your spine to your fingertips.

We'll show you how to incorporate these techniques into all seven exercises, as well as the transition movements between exercises.

You'll also learn how to push and pull chi along the energy pathways of the exercises. In general one initially does this along the surface of the skin.

We'll further explore how to feel and push and pull chi along and through your wei chi. The wei chi is a protective layer of chi that lies just under your skin.

As Bill teaches this workshop, he simultaneously will teach a Beginner Refinements workshop. At times both groups will learn and practice together. At other times Bill will teach one group while the other practices.
