Practise positive leadership

Positive leadership does not mean absence on negativity. It means remaining purposeful even in difficult times. Acknowledge the company is facing challenges, let the employee know that you are aware of their effort to keep things in place. Your primary job is to keep them optimistically focused on the company goals.

Fill the void

Bad economy jitters every employee. They are questioning how their job positions will be impacted and are unsure of what to do. That void is mostly replaced by negativity which spurns to more problem. As a leader, you need to keep close contact with the employee, communicate a lot. Let them know that there is nothing to worry about.

Know the energy vampires in your companies

No matter how many pep talk you offer, your effort will not go far if the non-conformist still circulate their negativity. Such individuals instil fear and even suggest who will go first come retrenchment.
